The duties of the County Clerk are to oversee the day to day operations of the county.  Our department works alongside all other departments in the county to make sure that the County as a whole runs as smooth as possible.  Some of my duties include preparing the meeting agendas, taking the meeting minutes and processing open records requests.

The duties of the Deputy Clerk are to assist the Clerk with any day to day activities. This position also works alongside multiple departments on a daily bases as well as assisting the clerk in maintaining annual tasks. Some of the duties include processing the mail for the complex, filing, and accepting applications for Beer & Wine Licenses.

Beer & Wine License

Madison County requires a Beer and Wine License in order to sell, manufacture or distribute malt beverages.  The renewal period for existing License holders begins in September and are due by the 1st of November.  You can contact the County Clerks office for more information regarding what documentation is required to obtain a Beer and Wine License in Madison County.

Alcohol Beverage Licenses

New Centralized Alcohol Application Process through the Georgia Department of Revenue:

Effective January 12, 2022, Georgia Department of Revenue centralized the alcohol application process for initial alcohol license registrations and effective September 2022 for renewals.  With this new system, all local and state alcohol applications will uniformly be submitted through the Georgia Tax Center (GTC) at https://gtc.dor.ga.gov and click the Register a New Georgia Business hyperlink or log in to your existing business account.
