Adopt - A - County Road (AACR)  - Year Long Event

WHAT:        ADOPT-A-ROAD (VOLUNTEER) PROGRAM

This nation-wide program gives concerned individuals, families, clubs and groups, the opportunity to help their local community and environment by collecting litter and beautifying roadways in their neighborhood.  They’re proactively making a difference by being a part of the solution to pollutionThere are no fees associated with this program!

 

WHEN:        JOIN ANYTIME!  (If already a member, annual renewals are held in March of each year.)

 

WHERE:       APPLICATIONS:

  Applications may be picked up at the Transfer Station at the Keep Madison County Beautiful (Office) or at the (Scale House) located at 2100 Colbert Danielsville Rd, Danielsville, GA       30633 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, between the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

WHY:            REASONS TO PARTICIPATE: 

Involvement:  An easy way for participants to get involved to help promote and contribute toward the effort of maintaining litter-free roadways in neighborhoods and communities                within Madison County.

Accomplishment:  Helps build personal, community & civic pride through accomplishments.

Positivity:  It makes a visible and positive impact on your local environment.

 

PROGRAM PERKS:        

Your Pick:  Select the county road and one-mile area of your choice that you would like to adopt.

Free Sign:  You’ll receive an Adopt-A-Road sign that’ll be placed on your designated roadway and will proudly display the name(s) of the individuals, families and/or groups that has/have adopted the roadway. (Optional)

Free Supplies & Litter Disposal: KMCB supplies: trash bags, safety vests, trash pick-up sticks and free roadway litter disposal year-round at the Transfer Station. (Based on Availability.)

Citizens of Madison County will be allowed to bring up to 10 tires at no charge!

Please no rims, or large heavy equipment tires

No businesses allowed

SPRING Into Recycling

Next Event: April 20, 2024 - Saturday, 10am-12pm at the Madison County Government Complex (main entrance)

Join us as we celebrate Earth Day each year and take advantage of the following programs:

Document destruction (up to 2 file boxes free, over 2 boxes @ $5 per box)

Medication Take Back (expired medicines in original containers only)

Shoes, clothing, batteries, ink cartridges, cell phone, and books for recycling  

Fall Tire Amnesty

Bring One for the Chipper - Christmas Tree Recycling

Bring your used, undecorated "live" Christmas tree for recycling and receive a free tree seedling or seed packet (if available, while supplies last)
