JOB SUMMARY
This person is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising indoor/outdoor youth and adult athletic events and team sports. Work involves oversight of activities so that participants develop skills in a fun and safe environment. This position reports to the Program Operations Manager. Purpose of Job:
The purpose of this job is to perform specialized work duties involving receiving/processing requests for emergency assistance within the Madison County Sheriff’s Office E911 Communications Center.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Receiving, classifying and prioritizing incoming emergency calls, as well as non-emergency calls;
Dispatching appropriate emergency service and/or law enforcement agencies and personnel by use of specialized communications equipment;
Receiving, monitoring and dispatching radio communications for Madison County Sheriff’s Office, local police departments, fire and rescue departments, Emergency Medical Services and First Responders (listed agencies hereinafter referred to as “public safety”);
Maintaining files for wanted persons, missing persons, and lost/stolen items, which includes entry/removal/modification into the Georgia CJIS Network and local databases.
Performing queries through the Georgia CJIS Network for pertinent public safety personnel, which may consist of vehicle tags, driver’s license information, criminal histories, missing/wanted persons and stolen items;
Acting as a liaison between callers and public safety representatives;

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Tasks require the ability to exert physical effort in light work and also involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of up to 50 pounds. This position may require the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials to perform assigned tasks. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation and field work to ensure compliance with departmental programs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The successful candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and some holidays in support of county programs and events. Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as heat/cold, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, hazardous materials, unsafe structures, heights, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, animal/wildlife attacks, or animal/human bites.
