Welcome to the Madison County Senior Center
The Senior Center is the hub for activities and services to the county's residents over 60. Every weekday the center is alive with activities ranging from lively competition between teams battling over Family Feud or Corn Hole games, musical presentations, pool noodle volleyball, and, yes, BINGO days. One can find participants in a quite corner reading, putting puzzles together, or playing cards. A few times a month the seniors take off on shopping trips, go bowling, or take in a movie. Exercises opportunities range from use of a fitness room equipped with treadmills, recumbent bikes, and a total gym machine to chair yoga, or the Senior Fitness Fellowship for more active participants. A hot lunch is served around noon each day and participants may drive in or be picked up at home on the center's busses.
Meals are delivered to home bound residents and caregivers when needed so that the less able senior is not forgotten. Meals are delivered to the door and a quick hello and visit is one way to check on their well-being and assure people that they are not forgotten.
Funding from the Federal and State Aging Services programs, our county, grants, and donors are used to keep costs to participants low and to ensure that no one is discriminated against because of race, religion, color, gender, political affiliation, handicap, or national origin. We welcome new faces, volunteers, and donors.

Home delivered meals:
Must be homebound, over 60 or a caregiver, and have working refrigerator and a way to heat food. Food is delivered 5 days a week to the door by staff or volunteers. To get started, call GATEWAY (706-583-2546) to have a telephone assessment. You will be referred to the center staff to set up your meal services when you qualify.
Meals are provided through the centers funding system and a voluntary contribution is appreciated. If you or a group you are involved with would like to sponsor someone who needs a meal, the monthly cost per person is just over $200.00. Donations help ensure no one is placed on a Waiting list due to lack of funds.
Seniors are members of the center. For a $50.00 annual membership fee, all on-site activities are included. A small activity fee for off-site trips is requested, and costs of trips is often shared. For example, the center may pay for admission tickets and the participant buys their own lunch. Agian, no one is denied participation because of an inability to pay thanks to our donors.
